Waldir Eustaquio Marques Jr. is the new president of CAIXA Loterias

Waldir Eustáquio Marques Jr, former Undersecretary of Prizes and Sweepstakes at Brazil’s Ministry of Economy, has just been appointed CEO of CAIXA Loterias. His name was approved by the Board of Directors of Caixa Economica Federal (CEF) and the term of office will be for two years, renewable for up to three other periods. With more than 15 years of experience, he is one of the most prepared people to assume the role. Marques Jr. himself confirmed the news to the GMB.

Waldir Eustaquio Marques Jr. has just been appointed president of CAIXA Loterias. At a meeting of the CEF Board of Directors this week, the name of the executive with more than 15 years of experience in the lottery sector was approved by the board.

The now president of CAIXA Loterias has extensive experience in matters of regulation of lotteries, sweepstakes and gaming, having been at the forefront of important moments in the former SECAP, of the Ministry of Economy, and more recently in SEPEC – Special Secretary for Productivity and Competitiveness.

Before being appointed to the presidency of CAIXA Loterias, Waldir Marques was a special consultant to Daniella Marques, president of CEF.

The new president has a specialization in gaming regulation from UNLV - University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in the course "Fundamentals of Gaming Law and Regulation" and "Strategic Perspectives in the Gaming Industry”, from UNR University of Nevada, Reno.

He recently received an award in London for his performance in the gaming sector. ICE London, the most important gaming industry fair in the world, presented him with the ICE London Landmark Award “for his incredible 15 years of service to the sector in Brazil.”
