Fernando Garita: “Betcris registers an increase in female audience before Qatar World Cup”

For the World Cup, Betcris is already prepared and just making some final adjustments to its platform to ensure the best experience for bettors. In an exclusive conversation with GMB, Fernando Garita, director of business development at LatAm, highlights the number of accounts opening by women before the event. “We are keeping an eye on this to offer specific attractions for this segment of customers,” the executive explains.

In an exclusive conversation with the GMB, Fernando Garita, director of LatAm business development at Betcris, one of the most important sports betting companies in Latin America and a strong presence in Brazil, said that he was very excited about the opening of the Global Gaming Expo to the online sector. For him, the new products, services and technologies aimed at the digital world “open up great opportunities for doing good business.”

GMB – How do you evaluate the Las Vegas show this year?
Fernando Garita
– As always, Las Vegas has been a reference for many years, especially for the American and European markets, but lately, for us in Latin America, we are very happy to see that there is a lot of variety of products, new themes, technology and great opportunities to do good business.

This year the sports betting area has a strong presence...
Yes. We found many additional products at the fair that were not presented before. There are numerous different additional offerings and today it is possible to play more in this industry and interact with platforms. We are very pleased with this change in concept of one of the most important fairs in the sector.

Does Betcris continue to grow in the market?
Of course, yes. That's the idea and we work to always grow. It is very important to look for new opportunities, visit, understand the directions of the market and the needs of our customers and tropicalize our product line to be ahead in the market. It's not because we've had many years in the industry that we're going to keep quiet. We are constantly evolving and for that we need to move according to the direction of the sector. We have numerous projects and are preparing for 2023 with new projects and countries.

New countries. Brazil is there and it is coming!
Yes. Like many, we are waiting for Brazil to move forward and for regulation to come out. We are impatient to be able to invest even more in Brazil.

Betcris already has great success in Brazil, with ambassadors, influencers and sponsored clubs.
It's our strategy. We have been working a lot in the country and in other Latin American markets, with a strong presence in Mexico, Ecuador and others, analyzing and promoting regional actions. As we have done in Brazil, for example, with clubs like Ceará and Fortaleza. What we are doing in the region is not something new and it is part of our personality. We want to be very close to customers.

The World Cup is coming. How is Betcris preparing for this moment?
Obviously we are already prepared. Betcris is making the last adjustments, as the number of players grows. And the increase in the female audience is very interesting. At this time, the number of accounts opened by women is growing and we are keeping an eye on this to offer specific attractions for this segment of customers. It's the biggest sporting event in the world and we're working to accommodate this increase in traffic.

And is Betcris ready for it?
Of course yes. We are always one step ahead to serve this growth in the best possible way.

And Fernando Garita bet on which country as champion?
I'm still analyzing the album to see what the Qatar Cup will be like, but I would like a Latin country to win the title. So let's support Latin America. There are several representatives from the region, including Costa Rica, my country.
