Anny Gomes: "Play'N GO has a team of Brazilians attentive to news on gaming regulation"

Anny Gomes, intellectual property manager of Play'n GO, one of the most important game developers in Europe, talked with GMB about the company's expansion in the US market and the imminent regulation of the sector in Brazil. According to her, the Brazilian team of the company is keeping an eye on the country and ready to create localized games as soon as regulations come out.

Play'n GO, one of the most important players in the global gaming market, has just strengthened its presence in the United States, where it began operating just over two months ago in New Jersey and Michigan. Participating for the first time at recent Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas, the company introduced its entire line of games to the growing online gaming market in US.

GMB – What assessment do you make of Play'n GO's debut at the Global Gaming Expo?
Anny Gomes - It's our first experience at the event and we attend to solidify our presence in the United States. Our games are already live in the country. We start in New Jersey and Michigan, which makes us very excited to find customers and potential partners to showcase our games. It is the first time that we participate with this structure to talk to everyone, meet partners and future customers face to face. It's very interesting to see land-based games as well, although we have a focus on the online, since we're from the digital universe.

That is, the novelty of Play'n GO is Play'n GO itself?
It's Play'n GO! We are here to show the American market our brand. We are very consolidated in Europe, being number 1 in regulated markets. We are recognized for the quality of our games, customer service and compliance area, in which we are very demanding. So it's very exciting to be in Las Vegas to introduce our philosophy, the quality of our games and the experience and gameplay of the titles we have and will soon be consecrated also in the United States.

And how has this experience of having crossed the ocean been?
It's gratifying for us. As I said, we have a consolidated presence in Europe and other regulated markets, so coming to the United States, where we entered two months ago, it's important to be here to know how people see our brand and our games. We want to know the reaction of this market, which is different in so many characteristics.

Looking at the map and going down a bit to Latin America, what is Play'n GO's expectation regarding this market?
As Brazilians, we know the potential of Brazil and that this audience is passionate about any type of game. For us, the Brazilian market is amazing and we see with great potential and passion. We have countless Brazilians on the team and we are very sure that the regulated market will arrive in Brazil and we can show what we do best. When Brazil is ready and with a regulated market, we will be ready to arrive with force in the country.

And what will be the company's plans? Do you want to install a Play'n GO office in Brazil?
It would be amazing, but for now we still have no plans forwarded in this direction because we have to see the movement of the regulation of online gambling. But as I said, we have Brazilians in the team and everyone is very attentive to the needs of the country and if there is a possibility, we can develop localized games when the opportunity arises.
