Brazil’s Caixa and state lotteries attended World Lottery Summit

Brazil was well represented during the World Lottery Summit that recently took place in Canada. The Brazilian delegation had the opportunity to learn more about the new technologies and products focused on the lottery market, including new terminals, control systems and numerous alternatives especially scratch cards, since the modality is very common in Vancouver.

The world lottery market has been meeting in Vancouver to discuss the latest technologies available in the industry and to discuss regulation, new technologies and products focused on traditional number lotteries as well as scratch cards, one of the show's star markets, as the Canadian city is one of the largest consumers of the product in the world.

Innovation was one of the major topics addressed during WLS 2022, in addition to issues related to new products, legislation, certification, marketing, compliance, post-covid market, corporate social responsibility, integrity, responsible gaming and sports data rights, among others.

Brazil was represented by senior executives of Loterias Caixa, as well as state lotteries, such as the presidents of Loteria Mineira, Ronan Moreira, Hazenclever Lopes Cançado (Loterj), and Daniel Romanoski, of the Paraná Lottery.

The world's leading players in the lottery industry also participated in both the panels that discussed the future of the activity and the exhibition, such as Intralot, IGT, Scientific Games, Skilrock and GLI, among others.

Among the Brazilians present, Ronan Moreira, president of Loteria Mineira, gave his statement to GMB: "A meeting of the WLA is always enriching, but in this edition it was particularly interesting to make contact with new technologies and equipment. An example was to get to know Vancouver's very dynamic instant lotteries market, with very attractive prizes and even with tickets much higher than the ones we usually see," he commented.

According to him, the participation was also important to get closer to important world players in the sector. "As we are in the middle of a bidding process and will have a public hearing within a few days to discuss new modalities for Minas Gerais, I had the opportunity to invite some of them to participate in our meeting. Their attention was aroused and some confirmed that they will be present at the hearing," commented Ronan Moreira.
