WSC Sports arrives in Brazil with AI tools and machine learning for bookmakers

WSC Sports, an Israeli company that is a reference in artificial intelligence-based technology, has just arrived in Brazil. Dedicated to the distribution of highlights of the largest competitions in the world, WSC serves more than 250 leagues and partners. One of the potential markets is sports betting for its ability to automatically detect, index and score every moment of a game in real time.

WSC Sports announced its arrival in Brazil to act in the creation and distribution of highlights for championships and tournaments. With more than 250 leagues and partners worldwide such as NBA, NHL, Bundesliga, ESPN, Warner Bros. Discovery, YouTubeTV, La Liga, among others, WSC Sports is a partner of Globo and Stock Car.

Now, the company intends to connect with teams, major championship organizers, sports rights holders, OTT platforms and broadcast companies to revolutionize the distribution of content with artificial intelligence.

According to Amir Gelman, general manager & head of business development Americas, Brazil is a potential market for WSC Sports as the country has high public engagement on social networks and a lot of interest in sports content.

Gelman explains that with the speed of information on different platforms, sports fans also expect a new experience in this segment and the company's solutions have been essential to ensure the right content and optimal timing.

To generate the videos in real time, the team teaches the system what to look for in each sport, how to understand the sounds of the fans and the referee, identify what is interesting or unusual.

"We use machine learning to automatically detect, index, and mark every moment of a game in real time. With this, we allow our partners to create and distribute their highlights directly through social media and other digital channels automatically and at scale, which maximizes the return on investment, expands the fan base and maintains the engagement of the public, which can follow the main moments on various platforms," explains Gelman.

Video highlights can also be used as push notifications for sports betting companies such as FanDuel and Sportradar. And given the growth of the sector in Brazil and the proximity of the regulation of the sector, one of the priority areas for the company may be the new regulated activity

The more than 250 partners who used WSC Sports technology worldwide analyzed more than 100,000 live streams in 2021 and created more than 3.4 million highlights.

WSC Sports has offices in Tel Aviv, New York, Australia and Asia and, with expansion across the Americas, intends to expand its operations in Brazil, followed by Argentina and Mexico in the coming months.
