CAF appoints Vanita Pandey as new marketing director

CAF, Brazilian IDTech specialized in tools in the area of facial identification and recognition, has just appointed Vanita Pandey as the new marketing director. Specialist in anti-fraud solutions, Vanita has more than 20 years of experience in the segment. Se has held leadership positions in companies such as Arkose Labs, Simility (acquired by PayPal) and Visa, among others.

CAF continues the wave of hiring of foreign executives to drive its expansion in the domestic (and international) digital identification solutions. The company just announced Vanita Pandey as the new marketing director.

According to CAF, she comes to the startup with a history of defining and coordinating global marketing strategies for technology companies in the areas of security, digital identity and fraud prevention.

In her previous work as chief marketing officer at Arkose Labs, Pandey helped in the process of evolving the company's profile and played a key role in her recognition as an Inc. 5000 - annual list with the 5,000 most successful companies in the United States. In addition to her position at Arkose Labs, she worked at Simility (acquired by PayPal), ThreatMetrix (acquired by LexisNexis), Visa and Capital One, always in leadership positions.

According to CAF CEO Darryl Green, Vanita's experience in scale-up startup projects, along with knowledge of conducting go-to-market strategies for established players, has resulted in the ideal choice for CAF's time.

"Embarking on this new phase of global expansion, her energy, market knowledge and ability to lead global strategies will be providential. I'm sure her arrival will bring invaluable fruit for CAF," Darryl says.

The hiring comes on the trail of CAF's follow-up movements, both in contribution and in changes in its executive staff. In July, the company received an investment of R$ 80 million (US$ 15m) from a group of experienced investors, including André Edelbrock and Trevor Clarke, co-founders of Ethoca - the world leader in fraud prevention, now part of MasterCard.

To sustain such growth, CAF began to hire executives with global experience to increase its presence and rival the sector's great national name, Unico. Former Visa and GBG Group, Emma Lindley was brought in to lead the international expansion, while Jason Howard (ex-Ethoca) took over as CRO (revenue director). More recently, Alexandre Brito, former CEO and consultant of Fintech Magalu, joined the board of directors to scale the business in Brazil and abroad.

Founded in 2019 in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, CAF currently has offices in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, London, Toronto (Canada) and Austin (Texas, USA), as well as its head office in Venâncio Aires (RS). In 2022, the company hired more than 100 professionals in Brazil and worldwide and had a 54% increase in its staff. The company is the only firm to have a safety certificate for its own proof of life technology, granted by iBeta Quality Assurance.
