Brazil’s fantasy sports association releases promotional video, deals with legal framework

The Brazilian Association of Fantasy Sports (ABFS) released its first video about the sector in Brazil. The entity presents Bill 2,796/202, that creates the Legal Framework for Electronic and Fantasy Games, unanimously approved by the Chamber of Deputies and awaiting a vote by the Federal Senate.

The purpose of Bill 2,796/2021 is to foster entrepreneurship for the production of online games in Brazil, which already represents the largest game market in Latin America and the 10th in the world in terms of revenue, according to a report by the Brazil Games Export Program.

By defining what electronic games and fantasy games are, the Bill delimits the market and separates these modalities, which are based on the skills of competitors, from gambling.

The two-minutes video (available in Portuguese) presents all the benefits of the legal framework and the market's growth potential as a result of sector regulation, sharing data on job and income generation, attractiveness for new investors and transparency for consumers and operators.

The sector supports and eagerly awaits the vote on Bill 2796/2021 in the Federal Senate so that advances can be implemented.
