Across state’s 179 sportsbooks

Super Bowl betting at Nevada reaches record US$179.8m

The total amount of bets placed in Nevada sportsbooks on this year’s NFL Super Bowl between the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals set a record, the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) informed. A total of US$179.8 million was wagered across the state’s 179 sportsbooks, up 32% from the US$136.1 million bet on last year’s Super Bowl and 13% above the previous record of US$158.6 million set in 2018.

Nevada sportsbooks kept a combined US$15.4 million from Super Bowl bets for a hold percentage of 8.6% compared with last year when they kept US$12.5 million, or 9.2% of the bets.

The win total is the third highest on record since the Nevada Gaming Control Board started tracking such wagers in 1990, trailing only the US$19.7 million total set in 2014 and US$18.8 million set two years ago.

Super Bowl LVI saw the Los Angeles Rams face off against the Cincinnati Bengals at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, the home of the Rams. This marked only the second Super Bowl to feature a team playing at its home stadium.

The Rams ran out 23-20 winners thanks to a late touchdown from Cooper Kupp, who was also named Most Valuable Player.
