Dunshee took to social media to announce that the club had won an injunction against the illegal gambling site, which is using "the club's brands, colors and symbols improperly". According to the official, the decision was to "stop the usurpation immediately".
"I ask everyone's help not to use this illegal betting site, even for your protection," requested the Flamengo’s legal vice president, on his Twitter.
The controversy involving BetFla and Flamengo has been going on since 2021. At the time, many people believed that Flamengo owned this bookmaker. However, BetFla and Flamengo do not have institutional links.
Such information about this separation was widely disseminated by the club’s board. Therefore, a legal case was started, because if people believed that Flamengo itself would have a bookmaker related to competitions that the team disputes, its credibility would decrease.
However, the ‘Rubro-Negro’ officials immediately spoke out, saying that the club was not responsible for the site, and that, for safety reasons, it was recommended that fans not use it to place their bets.
