Tax expert launches book on gambling in Brazil with a perspective in light of Financial Law

The book 'Public Enemies? Gambling and a perspective in the light of Financial Law' will be released this Wednesday (8) in Curitiba/PR, by tax lawyer João Vitor Kanufre Xavier da Silveira. In the publication, he analyzes the history and development of the activity and its relations with the State. In addition, it explores the benefits in the hypothesis of regulation of the sector in Brazil of casinos, bingos, jogo do bicho and online betting.

The specialist in Tax Law João vitor Kanufre Xavier da Silveira, from the Galvão Villani, Navarro, Zangiacomo e Bardella Advogados studio, will launch his book, "Public Enemies? Gambling and a perspective in the light of Financial Law", at 6pm tomorrow (8), at Livraria da Vila, at Shopping Pátio Batel, Curitiba/PR.

By paying attention to the harmony between Financial Law and gambling, João Vitor captures the human being in its entirety. He seeks, rationally, to explain the so-called game of chance or fortune. He researched its origin, its development through time, the involvement of people in the emotions it generates, the delight of a gain and the sadness of loss. But, always the involving emotions.

The author analyzes the problems that unite the State and individuals. He studies income and expenses relating to bookmakers. How much does the opening of gaming earn for the State? What's its expense? Will there be a surplus for investments in public policies? Should the State supervise the casinos and other houses where betting takes place? Should everything be released? Casinos, bingo, jogo do bicho and online betting? Everything was the object of his perceptive analysis. And the ludopath? Should have special attention from gambling establishments and special treatment of the State? João Vitor studied, alongside the legal precepts that will come, the human soul.
