Betting site Blaze is new master sponsor of Botafogo until year end

Botafogo announced that online casino Blaze is the new main sponsor of the team until the end of the 2022 season. The values for the bookmaker to stamp the master space of the uniform of the professional, Under-23 and women's teams were not revealed. The platform went from 12 million hits on the site in March to 47 million in May, but the number of consumer complaints against the platform is high.

American businessman John Textor, majority shareholder of the company that manages Botafogo’s football, spoke about the sponsorship agreement: “Blaze has a disruptive mindset aligned with our project and sees Botafogo as the ideal partner to leverage its business. The club always wants to have the best by its side. Blaze is also a 'chosen' and has everything to do with Botafogo. The company name refers to the flame and the symbol has fire as an element.”

SVP of Operations at Blaze, Santiago Afonso, praised the partnership with Fogão (as the team is known in Brazil): “We at Blaze are extremely proud to work together with Botafogo. A traditional club with a passionate and loyal fan base. There are millions of fans in Brazil and around the world, that's exactly what enchanted us. This partnership will certainly allow us to provide our players with top-notch content and a highly satisfying betting experience.”

The Director of SAF, Thairo Arruda, valued the connection between the parties and commented on the expectation of success with the partnership. “This is the result of an important performance by the commercial director, Rafael Ganem, and the commercial department that is being structured. Now we are connected in this important moment of the club to set fire on the pitch together with Blaze, which is also a sponsor of one of the biggest influencers in the world, the ‘alvinegro’ Felipe Neto,” pointed out Thairo.

Blaze was created in 2019 as a result of a group of entrepreneurs who not only had a knack for promoting entertainment, but also an affinity for the iGaming industry. After three years on the market, Blaze now has over 2,000 games and 12 million registered players.

The company produces digitally native games that users love. Blaze, as a product, is defining a new category in the gaming space, taking elements from casual and social gaming and turning it into a betting product. The content and platform are intended to create a truly differentiated player experience.

Blaze explosion in Brazil

SimiliarWeb shows that Blaze was the 73rd most accessed website in Brazil in March. There were 48 million total visits in May, an increase of 28% compared to the previous month, and at least 4.7 million unique visitors.

Of the traffic that comes to the site through social networks, 56% comes from Twitter and 33% comes from Youtube. Google's video streaming platform plays a special role in the spread of the casino.

A report from the Bitcoin Portal published on June 19 also shows how the Blaze online casino has become a fever in Brazil. The platform went from 12 million hits on the site in March to 47 million in May.

Blaze partners with influencers through a form, in which some requirements are required. For example: having a minimum of 500 thousand followers on Instagram and having 10 thousand views per video on Youtube. After completing this form, a unique code for influencers is generated.

The company claims to be based on the Caribbean island of Curaçao and to have payments processed by another company located in Cyprus. Although it looks like an international company, data from the traffic analysis tool Similarweb shows that 99% of the audience is ‘yellow-green’.

Rain of consumer complaints

As the online casino Blaze becomes a fever in Brazil, the number of consumer complaints against the platform is also rapidly accumulating. The Bitcoin Portal checked the reports posted by Blaze customers on the ‘Reclame Aqui’ portal.

In the last six months, ‘Reclame Aqui’ registers 6,739 complaints against Blaze. The vast majority of complaints concern problems with deposits made via PIX on the platform.

Another recurring point is that customers are dissatisfied with the online casino support. Ratings given in the portal show a satisfaction rate of 5.3, a level considered bad by the complaints service.

The way in which ‘Reclame Aqui’ assesses the level of customer satisfaction takes into account four points: response rate, average of evaluations, solution rate and new business rate.
