“Eightroom expanded to other LatAm countries with customers who saw our work in Brazil”

Eightroom, one of the main affiliation and customer acquisition companies, has guided its performance in order to grow more and add new products to the sports betting market. Firm’s commercial diretor Ricardo Magri spoke to GMB about these goals and the importance of “working hard, opening new fronts and going to other countries.” According to him, “infinity is just beginning” and the regulation is on that path with an already paved and mandatory lane to be signed between November and December.

Eightroom, a company specialized in services for affiliates, licenses, content and payment solutions, has grown exponentially in the Brazilian market. Ricardo Magri, firm’s commercial director, says that “every year we work to grow more, open new fronts, go to other countries and add new products. Growth must be what our industry must be. Infinity just beginning.”

In a conversation with GMB, Magri said that the company has expanded throughout Latin America: “Eightroom is very easy to adapt to the scenario and has expanded to other countries at the request of our international customers, who saw Eightroom's strength in Brazil, and wanted to replicate the work developed here in other countries. And that's exactly what we did.”

GMB – How do you evaluate the Brazilian iGaming Summit and what are your expectations for the Brazilian market?
Ricardo Magri
– Your first question opened up the best space for me to talk about this event. I'm a fan of the work of the folks behind BiS. It is an event more than adequate for a country that was lacking in this. A market the size of ours needed an event dedicated to the industry and made by those who know and experience this industry every day in Brazil. BiS is not a consequence of market development, but a cause of it. It's the impetus that we were able to give the market on two days like these, talking to the industry partners that make our market developed from here to the future. Because of the regulation. We have already reaped the benefits of the regulation wind, with brands that did not come before because the scenario was very gray and now it is moving more and more towards the clean and regulated scenario. This only brings benefits to the market, which has the potential to be, easily, one of the largest in the world.

What can Eightroom offer to this market?
Eightroom has been, even before I joined the group, practically since it was created, a powerhouse in customer acquisition, in bringing players to betting platforms and operators. Eightroom is very easy to adapt to the scenario and has expanded to other Latin American countries, adapting at the request of our international customers, who saw Eightroom's strength in Brazil, to replicate in other countries. And that's exactly what we did. Some of our products were created to bring the non-betting audience to their first experience. In this, there is a top-of-the-funnel strategy to increase the player database that we can work on performance and offer as an acquisition product to our partners, deliver a player of a higher than average value, already worked and tried. And educated for our market.

No wonder the Eightroom logo is the emblem of infinity. May this infinity come in these affiliations and in the work of conquering customers!
Exactly. Anyone who thinks about growth every year will hardly have a plateau for that growth. Eightroom is a bit like that. Every year we work to grow more, open new fronts, go to other countries and add new products. Growth must be what our industry must be. Infinity just starting.

What and when do you expect to happen the sports betting regulation?
I have been on the regulatory agenda for a long time and I have experience saying that it is difficult to guess. It's not a gamble, but my guess is based a little on the technical part of the legislation, which advocated two years that could be extended for another two years. That extension expires at the end of this year. But I find it difficult to be treated by a government that is seeking re-election. I think that after the election, there will be an already paved and mandatory path to sign the regulation. I think the government, elected or not, has to fulfill this stage. In November or December there is space for the regulation to come out.

Eightroom won the Best Affiliate in Sports award. What does it mean for the company?
A little bit of what we talk about infinity. Everyone likes to win awards, but one of the reasons we are proud is the recognition of our work by the industry itself, in addition to being a content generator, so much so that we are talking about it in this interview. We can use a concrete – and heavy – fact to talk about our work. More than that, it validates that our positioning is on the right track and this is where we have to be in that infinity of being here next year looking for a new award.
