EstrelaBet, Inter, Botafogo and Palmeiras join the panel on betting in Brasil Futebol Expo 22

Reason for great debate due to the potential to generate revenue, sports betting has been legalized in Brazil since 2018, through federal law 13,756. Regulation by the federal government is still lacking, and the deadline for this to be done ends in December 2022. The discussion of the topic is once again the focus of attention at “Brasil Futebol Expo 2022”, the biggest event on football in Latin America, held by the Brazilian Football Confederation - CBF.

The Brasil Sports Betting Summit is a congress held by BFExpo in partnership with Sports Betting Community (SBC), a company that produces content on the subject. There will be two days of debates on the process of regulating sports betting and the expansion of this market in the country, with the participation of Brazilian and foreign experts.

Sports betting agenda

On September 6, at 9 am, the Brasil Sports Betting Summit will debate the topic in the panel "Regulation of Sports Betting with a focus on Latin America" with the participation of:

• Magno José, president of the Instituto Brasileiro Jogo Legal
• Ludovico Calvi, Senior Executive Advisor to the Sports Betting Market and Member of the Global Lottery Monitoring System Executive Committee
• Rafael Rodrigo Bruno, partner at the law firm GBSA
• Carlos Gonçalves Junior, partner at the law firm GBSA.

Members of the Ministry of Economy, such as Alexandre Massa and Yuri Castro, were expected to participate, which are still pending confirmation.

“We will talk about the entire betting lifecycle from its inception to the dynamics of a transparent operation, and the strong commitment to integrity, responsible gaming and social responsibility,” says Ludovico Calvi. "The aim is to provide the public with all information and strategic input based on global best practices with regards to the management of a newly established sports betting organization."

The following day, also at 9 am, the panel theme will be "Sports Betting Market in Brazil - Opportunities and Challenges for Football Clubs and Operators". The debate will be in charge of Martin Lycka, senior vice president responsible for US regulatory affairs at Entain and member of the Board of Directors of the American Gaming Association and the National Council on Gaming Issues. The panelista announced are:

• Rafael Zanette, head of sponsorship at EstrelaBet
• Jorge Avancini, vice president of marketing at Internacional (RS)
• Rafael Ganem, commercial director of Botafogo
• Alberto Simões, executive director of women's football at Palmeiras

In its second edition, BFExpo 22 will have more than 200 speakers who will be distributed in about 70 courses in the areas that involve football inside and outside the pitch.
