During BWT Operator event, in Mato Grosso do Sul

Nevada trained travel agents from Brazil and presented casino news in Las Vegas

USA Day, an initiative of BWT Operadora, brought together 110 travel agents from all over Brazil at the Wetiga Hotel in Bonito (Mato Grosso do Sul) last August 15-16t for training with partners in the United States. Luciana Alonso, Nevada representative in Brazil, trained operators and presented some new features such as Circa Resort & Casino, the first adults-only resort in Las Vegas.

During the event, several trainings were held and one of the participating destinations was Travel Nevada, which wants to update the view of the region by Brazilian agents in the post-pandemic period. New routes, tours and experiences such as Route 95, known for having one of the darkest night skies in the United States, the new Tahoe South Events Center are some of the novelties presented in Mato Grosso do Sul.

“Participating in USA Day in Bonito, at the invitation of BWT, is a very assertive way to promote Nevada. Well, being connected to this unique environment in Brazil and with all the participants looking for new things is very different. Training in this way was a unique experience,” says Luciana Alonso, Nevada representative in Brazil.

“Brazilian operators are already developing marketing strategies to sell Nevada as a state and not just as part of Las Vegas. It is necessary to create awareness that Nevada has much more to offer. And the partnership with BWT is very special, as they already understand how to offer the destination to agentes,” she explains.

The Las Vegas destination is consolidated, but the State of Nevada, where it is located, offers very diverse experiences beyond casino games, clubs and pool parties. Luciana's challenge is to present these business opportunities with products that range from road trips to experiences of being in the Wild West in the small towns of the region, or even adventures in national parks.

“There are boundless experiences to discover and explore across the state. In the north, for example, Lake Tahoe, which is California on one side and Nevada on the other. There are resorts to enjoy life by the water and also play in casinos, which in Nevada are allowed,” concludes Alonso.
