The Chamber of Deputies can vote this week on Bill 1561/20, which authorizes the Executive Branch to create the “Health Lottery” as a new modality to be explored in Brazil with the allocation of resources to the SUS – Unified Health System and, exceptionally, for actions to prevent, contain, combat and mitigate the effects of the covid-19 pandemic. Na amendment added the Tourism Lottery to the PL.
So far, the project is the 13th topic on the agenda. The chapter that also covers the Tourism Lottery was included in it, but the definition of the proposals that will be discussed still depends on a meeting of party leaders, which may lead to a further postponement of the PL discussion.
In the proposal approved by the deputies, the contests would be carried out by Caixa Econômica Federal. But the senators decided that the lotteries would be implemented by the private sector.
Initially, the objective was to allocate the funds raised to the SUS - Unified Health System during the covid-19 pandemic.
The definition of the proposals that will be analyzed still depends on a meeting of party leaders, which could lead to a further postponement of the discussion of the Health and Tourism lotteries.
