UpSports.Bet's history with bodybuilding started from the desire to support the sport and also from the friendship relationship with the biggest names in Brazilian bodybuilding. It also started from the interest of the main competitors, such as Renato Cariani, Júlio Balestrin and Felipe Franco, who expressed the desire to place a bet on a competition in which the three would face each other.
“We came in supporting this idea, taking bodybuilding into the world of betting. The biggest sports are in the betting world and why not bodybuilding? We have boxing, football, basketball among many others, and we at UpSports.Bet believe that bodybuilding deserves to be in the same place. We hope that this event can be a milestone in the history of bodybuilding and we are happy to be a part of it,” says Felipe Dias, CEO of UpSports.Bet.
And for this innovative project, UpSports.Bet created a personalized betting template, in which it is calculated which of the three competitors will be better placed in Mr Olympia Brasil, with ODDs adjusted to the physique of each representative. ODD is the probability that a given situation will happen, the higher the ODD the more difficult it is to happen. In addition, bodybuilding is the main focus on the site, increasing not only the rivalry between competitors, but also among the legion of fans and followers of the three.
“LiveSports is always looking for something new. As an integrator, it was very gratifying to participate in this unprecedented union of bodybuilding,” highlights Luciano Silva, Production Director at LiveSports.
THE COMPETITION
The event of the Classic Physique category is scheduled for Saturday, September 24, at 6 pm, with 15 athletes in total. There will be cash prizes for the first three, between R$10,000 (US$ 1,950) and R$3,000 (US$ 585); and the champion will represent Brazil in the Bodybuilding World Cup, the Olympia, in Las Vegas (USA).
Olympia Brasil is the biggest bodybuilding event in Brazil and, in addition to having the professional dispute of Classic Physique, it will turn three amateur athletes, from each of the seven categories, into professionals who will be able to compete in 2023 for a spot at the US Olympia. The other categories are: Bodybuilding, Men’s Physique, Wellness, Bikini, Figure and Women’s Physique. And there will also be an expo, where the main companies and brands in the sector will present news in healthy food, supplements, fashion and equipment.
