“Bitci will launch Brazilian team’s second batch of fan tokens in the coming days”

The multifaceted entrepreneur Alessandro Valente, partner of Super Afiliados, CEO of Bitci Brasil and president of BiS/Afiliados LATAM, spoke exclusively with GMB about the local market, fan tokens of the Brazilian National Team and his expectations regarding the regulation of sports betting. “The country is experiencing a unique moment of international recognition and, in a year of the World Cup, all eyes are turned here,” he says.

Alessandro Valente is one of the most recognized entrepreneurs linked to sports betting in Brazil. Founder of Super Afiliados, he is very excited about the imminent regulation of sports betting in the country and the launch of fan tokens by Bitci, a company he also runs as CEO.

Present at recente edition of BFEXPO 2022, Valente highlighted the excellent moment the sector is going through, in a World Cup year and with the regulation of sports betting about to happen.

GMB – At a football fair like this, the sector is showing everything that the sports betting market involves. I would like you to tell us the current moment of Bitci and Super Afiliados in football, sports and betting business.

– And a presence that could not be missing with Bitci's technology and with the great possibilities for Super Afiliados, with the regulation to come soon. We are here to try to capitalize on this audience and for Bitci, which will launch in the coming days the second batch of fan tokens from the Brazilian National Team and soon Garrincha's NFT, with only 62 units globally.

And with one more detail, it will also be a physical release...
That's right. Our proposal in Brazil is that in Brazil the NFT has a physical counterpart. We ordered 62 statuettes of Garrincha in the kicking position to be made with a Brazilian artist. They are already finished and the NFT's are ready for the big release. First, the fan tokens that will give access to the purchase of the NFT will be released.

That is, will it be a phigital?
It has all the character of an NFT, digital, that can be taken to the metaverse. And the counterpart will have a physical representation to put at home, in the office or in a museum.

If the government so wishes, we will have the correct regulation for the Brazilian iGaming Summit and Afiliados LATAM 2023 events.

Are all the spaces already sold?
There was a lot of renovation. Most of those who were with us at the previous event have renewed. We have not yet opened for new sponsors and exhibitors, but there is a lot of interest. The contracts are now ready to be issued, with priority given to those who were there. Those who have indicated an interest in renewing will have priority and then we will open it to others.

And how is the sports betting market in your opinion?
Heated, in World Cup year. We have countless possibilities related to the World Cup and I have seen brands getting ready and websites with their offers and starting to mention that the Cup is coming. And for Bitci we don't even have anything to say, because for us it's the icing on the cake. The Brazilian National Team is loved all over the world, so the receptivity in terms of the National Team is wonderful. In addition, we had the launch of fan tokens for Vitória and Coritiba. Vitória's 2 million tokens sold out in 1h45.

And what about the first batch from Brazil’s team?
There were 30 million tokens, sold out in a few hours.

Did you expect this receptivity from the public?
From the foreign audience, no. But it was very well accepted, because the Brazilian team is loved all over the world. It has the power to transit in any country, as we do not have a colonizing characteristic. But beyond that, there are two types of audience. There is the person who buys because he wants to collect and have access to experiences, and the investor, who saw in the Brazilian team a possibility of financial return. So much so that in the last negotiation, there have already been transactions with good profitability.

And how is the relationship with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF)?
Amazing. CBF is very receptive, especially the new board. And the people who stayed also have a degree of transparency with us and a lot of support for the work we are developing.

So, to close with a flourish, all that remains is to bring the Cup, right?
Oh yes. Bring the Cup and if you buy the fan token and the title comes to Brazil, it will value tenfold.
