Playtech reports 73% increase in revenue in first half of 2022

Playtech released this week a statement reporting revenue of €792.3 million in the six months ended June 30, 2022 - a 73% increase on the same period a year earlier. As for galera.bet, with regard to bettors, it had a growth of more than 2 million new users on its platform.

“Our success in the period was driven by our B2B business in the Americas and Europe, plus another excellent contribution from Snaitech. We continue to make great strides in executing our US strategy, signing several exciting deals with leading global brands and progressing with additional license orders. I am very pleased with the positive start, delivering financial performance above our expectations, with significant strategic and operational progress made towards our goals,” said Mor Weizer, CEO of Playtech.

galera.bet is a sports betting platform created for the Brazilian public and whose partner is Playtech, the largest technology company and game provider in the world.

Together, Playtech and galera.bet have among their main guidelines the mission of responsible gaming, creating a safe environment for their players and supporting the sport. "We see sports betting as a form of social entertainment and practiced in a healthy way, strictly following the good practices of responsible gambling," explains Ricardo Bianco Rosada, CMO of galera.bet.

Founded in 1999 and listed premium on the main market of the London Stock Exchange, Playtech is a market leader in the gaming and financial trading industries with around 6,600 employees in 26 countries. It became a partner of galera.bet from 2021, providing business intelligence driven gaming platform software, services, content and technology.

In recent years, galera.bet has consolidated itself as one of the main betting sites in Brazil, also in the business sector, by closing a partnership agreement with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) for the sponsorship of the Men's and Women's Brazilian Championship, of the men's and women's football teams from Corinthians, in addition to large Brazilian football arenas, such as Allianz Parque and Mineirão.
