“AFUN is solely targeting the Brazil market and everything is customized for local consumer”

Games platform AFUN launched in July 2022 with Brazil in mind. In an exclusive interview with GMB, Taka Kataoka, Chief Strategy Officer, reveals that company observed and listened to the needs of the Brazilian market to entertaining local people with original and unique games. The executive assures that AFUN will seek to obtain a license to operate after the regulation and is already negotiating with various sports clubs, athletes and influencers to expand strongly in the country.

GMB - For the Brazilian public who are just growing to learn the company, what is AFUN and how was it born? In which international markets does it stand out the greatest?

AFUN aims to bring ‘a fun’ time to all who play, transporting our audience out of their everyday lives to a place where imagination takes over. AFUN is not just another betting company. We ensure a complete entertainment package for our users, regardless of whether they win or lose. Because, ultimately, don’t we all just wanna have AFUN!

What analysis have you made of the Brazilian market and what expectations do you have here?
The population in Brazil is growing rapidly. Unlike other developed countries, Brazil’s younger generation is booming. This is a key factor in growing the economy, not only for the betting business, but for all industries. A younger workforce means increased revenue which, in turn, leads to more disposable income. AFUN, as a company and as a product, looks forward to growing alongside and entertaining the people of Brazil.

 

 

Is regulation an issue that concerns AFUN? Do you aim to obtain a license once the market regulation finally becomes published?
AFUN welcomes regulation in Brazil. We are confident in providing a legal, safe and trustworthy service to the community. We plan to acquire a license as soon as it becomes regulated.

How do you plan to stand out in this competitive Brazilian market where there are already hundreds of established brands in the same sector?
Essentially, all betting sites are the same, offering almost identical games. The only difference being the amount of bonuses, for example. However, AFUN offers original and unique games that will capture our audience with excitement. Most importantly, we want to ensure a fun time to ALL our users. Most betting sites are targeting males only. In contrast, AFUN is much more inclusive and makes the user experience friendly to the female demographic too.

 

 

What are the advantages that a Brazilian bettor, in particular, can appreciate from AFUN?
AFUN is solely targeting the Brazil market. Everything is customized especially for the Brazilian consumer. Other betting companies are entering as an after-thought from Europe or North America, but we made AFUN specifically with Brazil in mind. We have observed and listened to the needs of the Brazilian market and will strive to constantly improve our services and stay ahead of our competitors.

Are there any planned brand actions, such as sponsorships in clubs or events, brand ambassadors or influencers?
We are in negotiations now with various sports clubs, athletes and influencers. However, we cannot disclose specific details at this moment and so, have to keep you in suspense. Among the available payment methods, AFUN added Pay4Fun, one of the strongest brands in the sector for such services. What more can we expect from the company? Will you be accepting payments via Pix?
For our customers’ convenience and safety, we offer a variety of payment methods. Pay4Fun is the most secure payment solution in Brazil so we are delighted to have them onboard. We believe the biggest concern for users is payment security. AFUN aims to ensure our users can deposit and withdraw without any difficulties. In which recent events of the betting/igaming sector have you participated, either actively or as a visitor, and in which do you plan to participate in the coming months?
AFUN launched in July 2022, so we have not yet participated in any events. We are presently organizing our own events in order to promote our brand, reveal our goals and secure our vision. We would like to share more information once everything is finalized. Watch this space Brazil!
