GMB – What is the balance of performance and growth of the Pragmatic Play in 2022? Were the results as expected or has it exceeded your expectations?
Victor Arias – We completed 2022 with an AMAZING performance, and we are very satisfied with the results we had during this period in Latin America. We can surely make a positive balance, considering our expansion in several countries; we had important agreements taking our content to new audiences across de region, together with this our localized team has growth exponentially aiming to optimize our service giving our partners a unique experience. We have many reasons to affirm that 2022 was a very productive year with an incredible result for our Hub.
Our plan was successfully applied, hard work and our investments in Latin America resulted in an above expectations conclusion, which made us come up with an even BIGGER PLAN for 2023.
Could you list the main achievements or goals reached?
We had incredible releases with big impact on the market in 2022. We can emphasize the game “Spaceman”, our first crash game, despite launched recently it has been a great success between the public, mainly the Brazilian market. In addition, we continued diversifying our slots portfolio with new releases every month, a total of 80 in the year, to be exact.
As an innovation in Latin America, in 2022 we had the first Live Casino game in Spanish, our Spanish Roulette, and new game shows giving more options to our fans across the continent. “Darts” was another important release last year, a realistic darts game that brings the atmosphere of the arena to the virtual world, promoting movements and expressions like the real player.
Following our marketing strategy, we attended 14 events affirming our commitment with the market.
And finally, we are extremely proud of having won 8 awards during the year, including the "Best Content Provider LatAm", "Americas Live Casino Provider of the Year 2022", “Best Mobile Responsive Product LatAm” and “Best Game Producer”.
Everything indicates that we are on the right track, and we are only starting.
In the iGaming sector, what issues or technological advancements do you believe will dominate the market in 2023? What will be the trends for the future?
We are in a digital revolution, and we need to keep up with all the technological changes to promote the best experience for commercial partners and players.
There is a concern to adapt more and more online games using technologies such as augmented reality and live streaming, for example. In payment methods we also see more online casinos accepting cryptocurrencies and I believe that this trend will continue in the coming years.
I believe that with 5G, cloud storage and artificial intelligence we will have many innovations in the iGaming sector. I also see that technology will be able to help us with security, and besides making payments easier, the games will be more customized for each segment, based on data technology.
In addition, we have to explore every resource that internet provide us, including the dissemination of information. We know that social media and the work of streamers and influencers, for example, is essential to promote products in our segment. The content they produce on internet and how they communicate with their followers is strategically interesting for reaching B2B and B2C audiences, and I believe this trend will continue.
Have you noticed that Brazil's gaming market has progressed in 2022 or another opportunity has been missed? Do you believe in regulation in the country in 2023?
Brazil is a very important market for us. We had a considerable growth on the commercial area in the country in 2022.
We are closely following the regular updates related to the regulation in Brazil with great expectation, I know it would mean a great advance for the country on different aspects, one of them the economic part, this will surely attract new investments in the country.
What are Pragmatic Play’s main goals/objectives for 2023?
We will have a busy period with new product development aiming to innovate and continue diversifying our actual portfolio and improve the experience for commercial partners and users.
For us it is VERY important to stay in touch with our audience, we have a full agenda with many important events and conferences in the iGaming industry taking place in Latin America this year.
Pragmatic Play will continue to invest in our team and in localization to serve with excellence each region where we are present.
In 2023, we want to work for an even more diverse portfolio to continue to generate the best entertainment for our audience.

ICE London is one of the world's go-to exhibition for product and solution innovations in iGaming, so of course we will be present to understand the industry’s next steps, but also to get in touch to our commercial partners and to explore networking opportunities. Do you plan to present anything new at ICE London?
