Maia Yoshiyasu lawyers sign chapter on Brazil in Gambling 2024 publication

Luiz Felipe Maia and Flávio Augusto Picchi from the Maia Yoshiyasu Advogados team are the authors of a chapter on Brazil in the prominent publication International Comparative Legal Guides - Gambling 2024. They address the panorama of Brazilian legislation, including the challenges for betting regulation sports, in the process of being achieved.

Published by Global Legal Group, the International Comparative Legal Guides - Gambling 2024 brings reflections and analyzes on the legislative, political and economic scenario regarding the sector, in several jurisdictions that are regulated or about to be regulated.

The chapter on Brazil is written by renowned lawyers Luiz Felipe Maia and Flávio Augusto Picchi from the Maia Yoshiyasu office team.

In the chapter, the authors did not restrict themselves to talking about advances in the regulation of sports betting in Brazil. They covered all gaming verticals such as casinos, bingo, poker, lotteries, online casinos, horse racing, fantasy sports, social and skill games.

In the chapter, both dealt with the imminent regulation of sports betting and a possible legalization of other types of gaming in Brazil next year.

They drew a parallel about the modalities, especially so that readers understand the differences between games, betting and gambling. Furthermore, they presented the new reality of the lottery segment, no longer as a Union monopoly, with the operation being implemented or considered by the States and the Federal District.
