JUE 10 DE OCTUBRE DE 2024 - 13:10hs.
Andrés Troelsen, Commercial Director LatAm

“Belatra is focused on LatAm with special dedication to Brazil, which attracts worldwide attention”

Ready to operate in the Brazilian market from January 2025, Belatra attended recent SBC Summit, where Andrés Troelsen, Commercial Director LatAm, received GMB for an exclusive interview. He highlighted that the company has hired a certification laboratory for its games in the country and that small changes have already been made in accordance with the rules. “We travel every month to be close to the operators and provide them with very good service in close contact with them.”

GMB – What are Belatra's new developments at the fair in Lisbon?
Andrés Troelsen – It is very important to participate in SBC Lisbon, a highly successful and large event. We are surprised by the number of partners working here, the number of people attending the event, and we believe that Lisbon will become a key event on our calendar as an interesting and valuable option to meet clients and business partners.

There is a good connection between Brazil and Portugal. Is that important for Brazilian operators seeking platform and game providers like Belatra at this fair?
We are impressed because it feels a bit like being in Brazil, due to the number of Brazilians who took a flight to visit us and attend. The number of casinos, platforms, and aggregators that are our partners in this business surprised us. We see that Brazil, on an international level, should be one of the main [markets]. The number of visitors from Brazil is amazing, and we find that super exciting.

From our side, Belatra’s main news is our commitment to Latin America, with our office in Buenos Aires, where we currently have seven people working, and a plan to participate in all industry events in the region next year. We continue to release new games, and by the end of the year, we will have a portfolio of 102 new titles.

We will also be in Miami with a booth, and we continue adding clients and partners globally, but with a strong focus on Latin America, traveling to Brazil every month and following the entire process of regulation and certification in Brazil.

The main news for us is that we can now announce to the market that we are in the process of certifying our games to operate in Brazil.

Are you already certifying the games with the laboratories authorized by the Ministry of Finance?
I confirm that we have already hired the laboratory and started the process. We expect to complete this process by the end of the year to be fully operational for all our partners in Brazil starting in early 2025.

Are there many changes in the games to meet the technical requirements asked by the Brazilian government?
Thankfully, there aren't many changes. These are things that Belatra was already doing, such as dealing with the Brazilian currency (Real) and having the game language in Portuguese. These are logical restrictions for working in a regulated market. Belatra has already been making adjustments and working on this. We were recently certified in Peru, and soon we will also have certification in Brazil.

What are Belatra’s plans for the Brazilian market starting in January 2025?
Starting in January 2025, our plan is first to enter the market and see how things unfold with these exciting new developments and this great opportunity presented by the regulation of the Brazilian market. We will closely follow this process. The exciting news is being able to monitor the business from Brazil, where we travel every month.

We already have people working in Brazil, Brazilians who speak Portuguese fluently, but the idea is to participate in the major industry fairs, visit our clients every month, and provide excellent service in terms of account management, ensuring day-to-day relationships with our partners. We believe the key differentiator is being in close contact, maintaining communication, and building strong personal relationships.

Is Belatra ready to make a strong entry into the Brazilian market?
Belatra is confident and ready to start. We have already entered the Brazilian market, and there are high expectations worldwide about the vast potential of the country. Today, Brazil is no longer just the future. Brazil is the present, and Belatra understood this a while ago, and we are moving forward very closely with the country.
