GMB – User verification is one of the most important tools in the iGaming business. What is the secret behind Legitimuz's solution?
Kayky Janiszewski – The main secret is focusing on the bettor. After all, they are the ones who really matter. We need to have the most contact with them so that the operator can achieve their goal, which is good conversion, a great user experience, and compliance with regulations. Additionally, avoiding issues with support and technical problems is key.
Legitimuz has been interpreting the reality of the bettor as a person who may not have much access to technology and information about how to handle documents on a device, or even access to a good internet connection. We know that most bettors in Brazil belong to classes C, D, and E. Understanding this, we provide the fastest solution with the best possible conversion and an excellent user experience.
How do you balance the General Data Protection Law (LGPD) with the operator's need to know who is betting?
The regulations clearly define who is prohibited from betting, such as minors, people involved in money laundering or terrorism, PEPs (Politically Exposed Persons), or those directly linked to sports up to the second or third degree. First of all, regarding LGPD, we can talk about the data of these individuals and restrict them from betting. Later, we can address capturing documents and facial recognition. These are sensitive data, and indeed, LGPD classifies them as such. They can lead to discrimination, and there can be significant harm to the operator if this data is leaked.
Legitimuz is the only platform in Brazil with GLI certification, and we are in the process of obtaining ISO 27001. So, we are well-prepared to assure operators that the data is well protected.

Around 120 companies have registered with the Ministry of Finance. How has the approach been with so many operators interested in Legitimuz's KYC solutions?
Many operators did not previously view KYC as an obligation, but now it is a regulatory requirement. So, it's not a burden, not a desire—it’s a regulatory necessity. Operators are focusing heavily on price, user experience, conversion, and ultimately ensuring that the often huge amounts they invest in marketing, such as football team sponsorships, are well spent.
Imagine, you invest tens of millions in advertising, and at the most critical moment in the user's journey—registration—they can't complete the process because they have an old phone, poor internet connection, or a low-quality document. We work to address these issues, and we’ve been doing a great job, including working with Games Magazine Brazil, to showcase our differentiators and our understanding of how to verify bettors effectively.
Bettors, like any internet user, get frustrated with delays and bureaucracy during the registration process. Is this minimized with Legitimuz?
Certainly. The main indicator is that we understand how to offer the bettor a wide range of possibilities for submitting their documents. Today, Legitimuz is the only Brazilian solution that allows submission of a digital driver’s license (CNH). For example, I personally don’t carry my physical CNH in Brazil; it’s only in my app. So, a betting site that uses Legitimuz’s KYC tools accepts digital CNH. Even if I don’t have the document on me, I can upload it in 15 to 20 seconds, and the verification is complete.
And it’s not just about speed but understanding the bettor's possibilities—digital documents, old documents, making a phone call? There are several biometric methods, and we work with all of them so that registration can be completed and the bettor is not affected.

What are Legitimuz's plans after the start of regulated operations, since operators will need to comply with the rules imposed by the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting?
We are already positioning ourselves as an ‘all-in-one for gambling’ platform. Today, within the range of services required by regulation, Legitimuz covers everything from user identification, geolocation and financial transaction monitoring, responsible gambling, sports integrity, and risk profiling.
We have been working on all these requirements to show operators that, instead of having six different providers for compliance, they can have just one that offers the best conversion, the best user experience, the best technical documentation for integration, and the best negotiation terms. And who is that one? Legitimuz.
