Senate CPI to hear Betnacional CEO and Sportingbet owner

The Senate Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CPI) investigating online betting is expected to vote on this Tuesday (26) requests to summon singer Gusttavo Lima and invite YouTuber Felipe Neto. Right after voting on the 29 requests on the agenda, the CPIwill take statements from Betnacional CEO João Studart and Sportingbet owner Marcus da Silva, as well as delegates investigating money laundering schemes related to betting.

After voting on the motions, the CPI will hear the owner of the Brazilian betting site Sportingbet, Marcus da Silva, who is being investigated by the senators. The same will occur with the CEO of Betnacional, João Studart, who is not being investigated but was invited to provide clarifications to the Commission. The CPI hopes to gather information about the operation of the companies and their compliance with the legislation. Both were summoned.

The following delegates will also be heard: Erick Salum, from the Federal District, and Paulo Gustavo Gondim Borba Correia de Sousa, from Pernambuco. Both are involved in operations related to the so-called 'Bets', with Sousa coordinating Operation Integration, which raised suspicions involving Gusttavo Lima.

Another 22 requirements to be analyzed are invitations to provide information. The list includes representatives from betting companies UpBet, Multibet and the Rio de Janeiro State Lottery (Loterj), as well as payments company Pix2Pay.

Pixbet CEO Ernildo Júnior Farias may also be called, but as a witness and under formal summons.
