The Montgomery law firm organized an informal meeting to discuss sports betting, online gambling and the role of state lotteries. Led by lawyer Neil Montgomery, the studio held an afternoon tea which was attended by the president of Loterj, Hazenclever Lopes Cançado, and public relations specialist, Gabriel Quiliconi, as well as members of the Montgomery team.

The meeting included insights into the current situation in the regulation of sports betting and online gaming, as well as the advances promoted by state lotteries in the development of the activity in Brazil.

The afternoon tea was attended by the president of Loterj, Hazenclever Lopes Cançado, and public relations specialist Gabriel Quiliconi. Managing partner and head of the Gaming Law Practice Group, Neil Montgomery, as well as colleagues Renan Castro, Patricia Guanciale and Cristiane Oliveira, also presented regulatory, tax, labor and civil litigation issues.

The imminent publication of the next ordinances that will determine the rules for the sports betting and online gaming sector in Brazil, as well as the holding of BiS SiGMA Americas, led the office to promote the debate, informally, but with relevant content on the current moment of the segment.

On the occasion, Hazenclever Lopes Cançado, president of Loterj, presented the regulatory scenario in the State of Rio de Janeiro and the other speakers addressed issues related to regulation in general throughout Brazil.

When highlighting his participation, Hazenclever thanked Neil Montgomery for the invitation, highlighting that “it was an afternoon of important debates on the general panorama of the sector, in particular, on tax, union and consumer aspects, in addition to the icing on the cake, which is the opportunity to apply license at Loterj.”

“We were very honored to have President Hazenclever Lopes Cançado and his team participate in our special afternoon tea to discuss the development of the regulatory framework for fixed-odd betting and online gaming,” said Neil Montgomery.
