In partnership with PlayAGS Brasil, AMZ launches Municipality of São Vicente’s instant lottery

AMZ Loterias do Brasil won a bid and secured the concession to manage the 'Loteria da Baixada' of São Vicente (São Paulo) for the next 20 years. In partnership with PlayAGS Brasil, the agency will initially open with 16 lottery terminals and 32 games certified by BMM Testlabs and approved by City Hall.

The 'Loteria da Baixada' plan includes, in the near future, holding draws, printing tickets and online electronic games.

According to its Operational Manager, Matheus Chaves, AMZ Loterias, in partnership with several international and domestic companies, develops the implementation of the most modern in the global lottery world.

"The market has evolved, lotteries have been on the drawing board for decades and are now beginning to develop in Brazilian territory in several new ways. We are constantly looking for new products that can adapt to and comply with the federal requirements approved by law," assured Chaves.

"The market is still in its early days, investing now is not a guarantee of immediate returns, but rather permission for us to develop new products for the future," added the executive.

AMZ Loterias do Brasil won a bid and secured the concession to manage the 'Loteria da Baixada' of São Vicente, on the coast of São Paulo. For the next 20 years, therefore, the company will be able to hold raffles, print tickets and scratch cards - including digital ones -, in addition to promoting electronic, physical, and online games.

The decision was announced by the city hall through the Finance Department (Sefaz). The objective of the municipal administration is to generate resources for the municipality without increasing taxes and duties.

According to a note from the Finance Department, the  'Loteria da Baixada' is a new public service and, now, with the concession, in addition to resulting in more revenue, it will generate jobs, income and partnerships in the city.

The model follows the same model as the lottery carried out by Caixa Econômica Federal, respecting Federal Law 13,756 of 2018, which governs the rules and matters regarding prediction games.

According to the City Hall, a study carried out by Fundação Fundac shows that around R$155 million (US$ 30m) can be raised over the term of the concession, with prediction games representing around 0.20% of Brazil’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

The money raised will be used to fund social security and to finance actions, projects and contributions of funding resources in the areas of social assistance, human rights, sport, culture, health and public safety.
