Loterj receives OAB/Barra da Tijuca Commission to discuss sports betting

The president of Loterj Hazenclever Lopes Cançado received this Tuesday (21), at the entity’s headquarters, a visit from the president of the OAB/RJ Special Committee on Sports Betting Platforms, Mozart Castello. At the meeting, issues related to the promotion of sports betting activities, prevention of game manipulation and market regulation were discussed.

The president of the Special Committee on Sports Betting Platforms of the 57th Subsection of the OAB/RJ (Brazilian Bar Association - Rio de Janeiro State Section - Barra da Tijuca), Mozart Castello visited Loterj. At the meeting, held this Tuesday (21), issues related to the promotion of sports betting activities, prevention of game manipulation and market regulation were discussed.

The vice-president of the Commission, Marcus Costa, and lawyer Daniel Macedo also participated in the meeting. For Loterj, in addition to President Hazenclever Lopes Cançado, there were vice-president Fabíola Esteves, the chief of staff, Juliana Albuquerque de Paula, and the head of Legal, Nathalia Fernandes.

The president of Loterj, Hazenclever Lopes Cançado, highlighted "the importance of Loterj's permanent dialogue with organized society, such as the Brazilian Bar Association through its Special Commissions, stimulating the consolidation of a formal and regulated sports betting market and online games and combating tax evasion and tax evasion."

"The OAB/RJ Barra da Tijuca, through the Special Commission for Sports Betting Platforms, had the honor of attending Loterj to establish a constructive dialogue and deepen understanding about the accreditation of sports betting platforms in the State of Rio de Janeiro. Interinstitutional dialogue is essential so that we can achieve significant progress, providing greater transparency, security and equity, considering the sensitivity of the issue,” highlighted Mozart Castello, president of the Commission.

We are convinced that we will be able to regulate the market fairly and provide resources to our State, thus promoting the generation of jobs and income. Loterj's accreditation model currently stands out as the fairest and most inclusive for all iGaming segments," he concluded.
