Beatriz Melges, Director of SoftConstruct Brazil

"BetConstruct and Oddsgate partnership makes us the largest B2B ecosystem in the sector in Brazil"

In an exclusive interview with GMB, Beatriz Melges, Director of SoftConstruct Brazil, highlighted the importance of the first Harmony – YoFuture in LatAm, held in São Paulo. It was the opportunity to announce the partnership with platform provider Oddsgate in Brazil, making the companies the largest B2B ecosystem in the country. BetConstruct's cutting-edge solutions for personalization and user loyalty, as well as agreements with other providers in the regulated market, were also presented.

GMB – What does it mean for BetConstruct to present Harmony – YoFuture to the entire regulated Brazilian market at this new stage of the company’s ecosystem?
Beatriz Melges – It’s a pleasure to be here with you and with Games Magazine Brazil at our home. I always like to emphasize this since we are in São Paulo, Brazil. Harmony, for those who don’t know, is one of SoftConstruct’s celebratory events, where we gather all our partners, both to provide an experience for our guests and to showcase new developments.

And this Harmony in Brazil is the first here and in Latin America. That’s why it’s a moment of happiness and pride. What it really signifies is marking our new entry with greater customization for the Brazilian market on top of our client solutions.

We saw in your presentation, very well delivered to the audience, a series of advantages and more options for clients. What does this mean from a corporate perspective, imagining an increasingly larger presence of BetConstruct in the Brazilian market?
First of all, we understood how much “local” really means LOCAL. For this reason, our entire team from Armenia is in Brazil to understand and experience. It’s the concept of putting yourself in the place of those who are doing the work. That’s the first point: observing the market and local players’ behavior.

Secondly, we have invested heavily over the last nine months of regulation in artificial intelligence and demonstrated this in our products to ensure better delivery. We are global partners with Google and Amazon, processing a lot of data. From this data, we gain a lot of insights. What we can do with these insights for the client is part of what you saw in the presentation.

We showed that our products today are better adapted, updated, and use AI to improve operator revenue while simultaneously reducing both risk and harm.

You presented not only AI, but also affiliate and platform solutions – for both sportsbook and casino. What are the main advantages an operator can expect from the complete BetConstruct solution?
Regarding the casino platform, we showed that today we are the platform in Brazil with the largest number of providers and, consequently, certified games. We brought all our modular solutions. In other words, if you don’t use our platform, you can integrate any of these solutions. Our CRM is introducing some predictive functionalities. You can predict churn, identifying a user who may leave the operator or become inactive.

The tool also predicts VIP users. All of these are countless advantages we can deliver to the operator. They can see, in a single place, revenue, predictability, which users will advance and improve, who they can build relationships with, and who they might lose. This helps improve loyalty, which is a challenge in Brazil.

One thing that stood out during the presentation was the use of AI to improve user experience, so that when they arrive at the betting platform, they find what they like – similar to what we see on Netflix and other apps. How did you plan this to meet the end-user’s expectations?
This is part of our new CEO’s plan, who comes from a different structure. We realized that we process more global data than Mastercard, for example. With this and through our major partnerships with market players, technology companies, and data providers, we can understand user behavior and provide this customization. If a user is playing and really likes slots, other types of slots will be offered within their site experience.

And this is just the beginning. The idea is to implement predictive sports and usability. Even if you and I log in to the same operator, you may have a different interface from mine, 100% based on your tastes, preferences, and how you use the site. It will be different for me because I will have distinct behavior. Sometimes I only bet on sports, and you only play slots. Each of us will have the best delivery for our preferences. This idea came from our CEO, not only based on data and insights, but to deliver something extremely customizable and user-centric.

More than simply using cookies, you developed intelligence in this process. Was it difficult?
Very, and I think it still is. This development will always be ongoing. Many challenges lie ahead. To process all this, you need not only a very strong, robust, and secure software house for a huge database but also an understanding of what can be done and how to be highly predictive. These are challenges we are overcoming, and we are happy to bring this cutting-edge innovation to Brazil.

BetConstruct and Oddsgate announced a partnership for Brazil. What does this mean for the market and for the two companies?
For the market and the two companies, it means that together we are the largest B2B platform providers in Brazil in terms of volume. For the end operator, this means they are secure. Together, we bring the combined experience and expertise of operating in multiple regulated markets for many years, increasing reach and coverage. The idea is to join forces to succeed. Ultimately, the most important thing is to deliver a solution, not only for the operator but mainly for the end user.

How are the Brazilian operations going? Are they ready for this new stage of BetConstruct and SoftConstruct as the holding company?
They are not yet fully ready in the way they expect from us. We are challenged, in the best sense, by our clients. We have been working hard to listen to them and, based on what we hear, provide solutions that fit their needs. So, I think they are ready and need this, not only our current partners but also the new ones to come. Operators will seek solutions that deliver what they require. Being modular and flexible in Brazil today is essential.

Having shared so many insights and spoilers at Harmony – YoFuture, what do you expect for the near future in the regulated Brazilian market?
I expect many days like today, full of good news, new partnerships, and local agreements. It’s also worth mentioning that we not only presented the Oddsgate partnership at the event but also new payment methods, local PSPs, and KYC providers already operating in Brazil. Our goal is to create an ecosystem that truly responds to local operators’ needs and understand how business is done in Brazil.

In summary, are you satisfied with all these satellites around BetConstruct?
Absolutely. I think there is always room for improvement, and that’s what we work on daily. Even before the Oddsgate partnership, BetConstruct already had 5 million active users in Brazil using our technology monthly. We are very proud to do this and know that we deliver something secure and enjoyable for users.
