The project consolidates Lindau’s position as one of the first sports betting and iGaming companies regulated by the Ministry of Finance to internally develop both processes and a robust AML tool, without relying on third-party solutions.
With proprietary technology, the system ensures continuous monitoring of operations, detection of suspicious patterns, and proper reporting to the competent authorities — guaranteeing full compliance with Brazilian regulations.
This initiative reinforces the company’s technological independence, its commitment to transparency, and its focus on offering the market a solid, reliable, and sustainable operation.
Claudio Serpa, Lindau’s Compliance Director, highlighted that since the beginning of regulation in Brazil, the company has committed to being at the forefront of transparency and security: “Developing our own AML system, bringing our business experience and tailoring it to our operations, proves that Lindau not only complies with the law but also anticipates trends and sets high-quality standards for the industry.”
“More than a regulatory obligation, we view AML as a pillar of our corporate responsibility. Our proprietary system shows that we believe in building a trustworthy and sustainable market for everyone — users, partners, and society,” he said.
Safefy, the technology company, delved deeply into the new regulation established by the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA). In partnership with Lindau, it began developing the system earlier this year, going through several improvements before its official launch.
Eduardo Franceschett, the company’s founder, believes that only technology can provide the level of control necessary for the sector’s long-term stability, while still addressing operators’ specific needs.
In his own words, he stated: “We realized there was no AML system specialized for Brazilian betting operators. Given the strong demand, we developed SafePLD — a product that not only fully complies with regulations but also addresses operators’ pain points and challenges.”
“We avoid unnecessary player blocking and created a proprietary SafeKYP (Know Your Player) model that provides valuable insights to help betting operators better understand and engage with their customer base, keeping it healthy.”
Bruna Perez, a Compliance & AML-CTF expert, recently joined Safefy to refine the product and monitoring analytics. She emphasized that building a monitoring tool aligned with the requirements of SPA Ordinance No. 1,143/2024 demonstrates not only Lindau’s compliance with current rules but also its ability to anticipate risks and structure controls tailored to the sector.
“This initiative shows that the company views customer monitoring and anti–money laundering as both a competitive advantage and a commitment to market integrity,” she said.
Bruna also highlighted that the integration between technology and technical expertise was one of the project’s pillars: “Participating in this development was an opportunity to apply the most prudent AML-CTF analysis and alert parameterization practices. Each monitoring rule was built based on Lindau’s own risk-based approach, taking into account customer and transaction profiles — which ensures greater effectiveness in detecting red flags and reducing false positives.”
“Safefy’s system was born ready to evolve alongside Brazil’s regulatory and technological landscape — positioning Lindau as a benchmark in the sector.”
With this initiative, Lindau reaffirms its role as a solid, innovative company committed to best compliance practices. The proprietary AML system not only strengthens its credibility with regulators and partners but also ensures an even safer experience for millions of users of Oleybet, Betpark, and Spin.
