Federal Public Prosecutor's Office rules out investigating sports betting based on CPI report

Created to investigate sports betting, the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) on the so-called ‘Bets’ ultimately did not deliver the expected results. Senator Soraya Thronicke's report, which called for the indictment of influencers and 14 other people under investigation, was not even approved by the committee itself, which ended without achieving any results. Sent to the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office, investigators concluded that everything should indeed be archived.

Given the embarrassing outcome of the Bets Parliamentary Inquiry (CPI), Soraya announced in June that she would send her report to the investigating bodies.

"This doesn't stop me from taking the report to all the authorities. If that were the problem, they would be protected. But they've fallen off the wagon once again, because I will deliver the report and all the documentation we compiled to the appropriate authorities so they can continue the investigation," Senator Soraya Thronicke said.

The senator, it's true, fulfilled her promise and sent her report to the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office. Recently, however, the investigators, after analyzing the material, concluded that everything should indeed be archived. And that's what happened.
