The launch coincides with the start of the NBA season, highlighting the growing interest of the Brazilian audience in basketball.
According to Flashscore data, basketball is the second most-followed sport in Brazil, with over 415 million page views in the past 12 months. The most popular games include matchups featuring the Golden State Warriors against the Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Denver Nuggets.
In basketball, notifications for Starting Lineups and Player Ratings are already available, while future updates will include alerts for favorite players’ games, top-performing athletes, news, season stats, and standout performances, with rollouts planned between December 2025 and 2026.
For ice hockey, users will receive alerts on assists, transfers, and penalties, with the launch scheduled between November 4 and 11. In Brazil, ice hockey has already generated over 7 million page views in the last 12 months.
“Our goal with Follow Player is to make it easy for fans to follow their favorite athletes in real time,” said Alexandre Vasconcellos, Flashscore’s Regional Director in Brazil. “We want everyone to have access to relevant player performance data — even when they’re watching on their phones.”
The “Follow Player” feature represents a new way for Brazilian fans to engage with emerging sports, offering real-time data and notifications that bring fans closer to the athletes’ performance and help bettors make more informed decisions.
