The president of Loterj and the vice president traveled to the United Kingdom to participate in the LIDE Brazil–UK Forum, with the goal of showcasing the progress made in regulating sports betting and online gaming in Rio de Janeiro, as well as the recent approval of VLT (Video Lottery Terminals) operations in the state.
Taking advantage of the fact that Ambassador Antônio Patriota serves as the diplomatic host and coordinator of bilateral relations between Brazil and the United Kingdom, the Loterj leadership and the undersecretary of Rio de Janeiro met for a meeting, during which they presented the current outlook of the betting and gaming sector in Rio.

“It was a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences with a diplomat of Ambassador Antônio Patriota’s stature and to understand how the United Kingdom has been improving its gaming and betting regulations. This dialogue reinforces Loterj’s commitment to international best practices and to increasingly transparent and responsible governance,” said Hazenclever.
The meeting offered a rich exchange of perspectives on gaming and betting regulation — a field in which the United Kingdom is a global benchmark and where Loterj has stood out for its pioneering efforts and commitment to international best practices.
“The gaming and betting market is strong and traditional in the United Kingdom. Now, as we structure our market in Brazil — particularly in the State of Rio de Janeiro through Loterj — understanding its dynamics and regulation here gives us greater foundation and confidence, ensuring that our market is solid, safe, and above all, capable of generating revenue for the State,” said Bruno Costa, Undersecretary for International Relations of the Government of Rio de Janeiro.

Hazenclever remains in London for the two-day forum, which fosters dialogue between public and private leaders on business and investment opportunities between the two countries.
On the evening of this Thursday (30) the opening dinner of the LIDE Brazil–United Kingdom Forum took place, bringing together big names from politics and business from both countries, such as Susan Bala, CEO and founder of Phoenix Global Technology, the former governor of São Paulo João Doria and the former president of the Republic Michel Temer, in an environment of productive dialogue and strengthening of bilateral relations.
