Brand maintains support for the 2026 calendar

Fabiano Caruana crowned champion of the 2025 Grand Chess Tour Finals sponsored by Superbet

Grandmaster Fabiano Caruana, representing the United States, claimed the title of 2025 Grand Chess Tour (GCT) Finals champion — a tournament sponsored by the Superbet Foundation and held in São Paulo. The American secured victory during the Tour’s 10th anniversary season, marking the first-ever Finals edition in South America. The brand has confirmed it will continue its support for the 2026 season.

The final match had its share of drama, but I hope fans enjoyed watching the action,” said Caruana. “It’s an honor to win the 2025 GCT. It’s such a prestigious and tough event, especially in the knockout format. I’m very happy to have won this year’s Finals.”

Congratulations to Fabiano Caruana on his victory at the 2025 GCT Finals, and to all the players for their incredible performances. For us, helping bring the Tour to São Paulo was a unique opportunity to promote chess in the region. We hope this inspires people of all ages and backgrounds to play more chess, dream big, and strive for excellence,” said Augusta Dragic, President of the Superbet Foundation.

Caruana made an impressive comeback, winning three consecutive games to clinch the title — a remarkable achievement given that he also triumphed at both the 2025 Saint Louis Rapid & Blitz and the Sinquefield Cup, securing his second overall GCT title.

With Caruana’s victory, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave finished second, while Levon Aronian and Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa took third and fourth place, respectively.

The GCT proudly celebrated the conclusion of its first decade with the Finals in São Paulo, Brazil — marking the Tour’s debut in Latin America. This historic event not only featured world-class competition but also symbolized the global growth of chess and the enduring success of the Tour,” said Michael Khodarkovsky, Executive Director of the Grand Chess Tour.

With the first decade completed, the GCT now begins a new chapter, looking ahead to the next ten years of growth, innovation, and world-class events for players and fans around the globe.

Congratulations to Fabiano Caruana on this year’s GCT victory,” said Rex Sinquefield, co-founder of the Saint Louis Chess Club. “Saint Louis was proud to host two exciting Tour stages, and we can’t wait to once again welcome the chess world next year in our newly expanded club.”
