Loteria Mineira highlights its social commitment at 11th Minas Gerais Councilors Congress

The director-general of the Loteria do Estado de Minas Gerais (LEMG), Onésimo Diniz Moreira, took part this week in the 11th Minas Gerais Councilors Congress, organized by the Minas Gerais Association of Municipalities (AMM) at Expominas, in Belo Horizonte. During the event, he reinforced the agency’s commitment as a driver of regional social and economic development.

The congress brought together municipal and state authorities, as well as public management specialists, for a broad discussion on innovation, governance, and institutional strengthening.

During his address, Onésimo Moreira highlighted the importance of Loteria Mineira as an instrument of social and economic development and emphasized the relevance of the partnership between the state and municipalities in the responsible application of public resources.

Loteria Mineira is a tool for transformation. Every amount collected is directed toward direct benefits for the population, especially in the areas of health, education, and social assistance. It is essential that municipalities understand and engage in this process so we can further expand the reach of our initiatives,” said Onésimo Moreira.

The event was held at Expominas and included the participation of municipal council members, public managers, specialists, and representatives of state institutions.

The presence of Loteria Mineira’s leadership at the congress reaffirms the institution’s commitment to efficient public management and to building policies that meet the needs of the population, contributing to the advancement of municipalities in Minas Gerais and reinforcing the agency’s dedication to transparency, modernization, and social responsibility.

Under its current administration, Loteria Mineira has been implementing a model for regulating games and betting that is nationally recognized for its efficiency and legal security.

“Minas Gerais has become a benchmark in the lottery sector for combining technological innovation, strict oversight, and the social allocation of resources. Our goal is to continue strengthening this model, ensuring that Loteria Mineira remains synonymous with credibility and results for the people of Minas Gerais,” added Onésimo Moreira.

The 11th Minas Gerais Councilors Congress brought together municipal legislators, public managers, specialists, and representatives of state institutions to discuss key topics for strengthening local public administration. Consolidated in the state’s political calendar, the event aims to train councilors and provide a space for exchanging experiences, legislative updates, and discussion of challenges faced by municipalities.
