Representing the RN Lottery were José Rinaldo Fiúza Lima, sub-coordinator of Monitoring and Inspection, and IT specialist Geraldo Marcelo Cabral de Souza.
For Cassiano Pereira Junior, it was a pleasure to welcome the team from the Rio Grande do Norte Lottery and to know that the work carried out by the Maranhão State Lottery is being recognized across the country.
“Lotema has been working hard to promote and share the knowledge acquired with other states, and once again, I am grateful for the presence of everyone who visits us. I reinforce that we are always at your disposal, with open doors, ready to contribute to the development of the State,” he said.
The law that created the Rio Grande do Norte State Lottery was sanctioned in June 2025, and since then the team has been working to prepare itself to start operations. In the state of Rio Grande do Norte, the State Department of Finance (Sefaz-RN) is the body responsible for regulating the activity so that it can be operated.
During the discussion, Rinaldo Fiúza emphasized that the RN Lottery has been seeking to establish two important pillars: effective regulation and active oversight — the latter aimed at protecting both the user and the State itself.
“Our goal in visiting you is also to understand your regulatory framework and inspection procedures, gaining this initial perspective, understanding how the operation works, and assessing what kind of structure we need. The experience has been very valuable, and of course, just as we are exchanging experiences with you, you are also learning from us,” he highlighted.
Throughout the visit, the Lotema team presented the management systems and georeferencing tools used to ensure security and transparency, as well as discussed the challenges faced and the solutions found to deliver the best service to bettors.
Geraldo Marcelo thanked the partnership, the warm reception, and the exchange of knowledge, aiming to bring best practices to be implemented in the state lottery operation.
“We came to Lotema to learn about its operations and we had an excellent presentation. Now we can develop our solution with a more mature perspective, and learning from the Maranhão State Lottery helps us shorten the path. We are certain that we will be able to implement a much stronger platform, and we also took the opportunity to gather information on the legal instruments used by the Maranhão State Lottery. We found this experience highly valuable and very positive; we are returning to Rio Grande do Norte with a wealth of new insights,” he concluded.
