Revenues expected to surpass US$2.5bn this year

Growth of women’s sports draws sponsors and opens new markets in the ‘Bets’ sector

According to economic consultancy Deloitte, women’s sports are projected to generate R$13.3 billion (US$2.5bn) in revenue in 2025 in Brazil, with football and basketball standing out as the main drivers. In the ‘Bets’ sector, women are also gaining visibility, and bettors are increasingly engaging with the competitions in which they participate.

A recent study produced by Grupo Globo in partnership with Offerwise, a global company specializing in online market research, shows that women’s football is already the second most bet-on sport in Brazil, at 31%. It ranks behind only men’s football, still dominant at 76%.

The fact that women’s football has reached second place among the most bet-on sports in Brazil clearly shows a new audience behavior. Brazilian bettors are engaging with sports that reflect new patterns of sports consumption. This scenario creates room for more diversified strategies and reinforces the importance of viewing women’s football as a consolidated and rapidly growing market,” says Anderson Nunes, Head of Business at Casa de Apostas.

Start Bet was one of the official sponsors of the 2025 Brasileirão Feminino, and according to Diego Bittencourt, the brand’s CMO, the current scenario is ideal for investing in the category.

Brazilian women’s football is going through a phase of expansion—not only in terms of athlete performance and achievements on the field, but also in the significant increase in visibility, infrastructure, and media presence driven by TV broadcasts and growing audience interest. In this context, investing means directly contributing to the consolidation of the sport’s growth. Supporting the sport aligns with our strategy, which is why we chose to sponsor the 2025 Brasileirão Feminino.”

In Brazil, the 2024 Campeonato Brasileiro Feminino recorded a 41% increase on TV Brasil and RNCP (Rede Nacional de Comunicação Pública) and reached 56.5 million people on Globo and SporTV.

The growth of women’s sports in recent years has enabled the creation of new markets within sports betting platforms, which are now paying closer attention to new sports and attracting new customers to the market,” says Alex Rose, CEO of InPlaySoft, a company that provides platforms for betting websites.
