Brazilian Football Confederation survey shows that two in ten fans place sports bets

Two in every ten football fans (exactly 23.7%) in Brazil place sports bets. The figure comes from a survey on the profile of local fans conducted by CBF Academy, in partnership with AtlasIntel, which will be presented this Wednesday (26), during the CBF Summit event. The information was first reported by Ancelmo Gois in O Globo.

The study also shows that 80.6% of bettors spend up to R$ 100 (US$18.5) per month, while 1.7% spend more than R$ 1,000 (US$185) per month.

According to the Ministry of Finance, in the first half of this year, sports betting and online gaming companies generated R$ 17.4 billion (US$3.2bn) in revenue.
