The event brought together government authorities, international experts, representatives of state lotteries, regulators, and technology providers from across Latin America, offering a space for discussion and knowledge exchange on the main challenges and opportunities in the sector.
The congress addressed strategic pillars such as sports integrity, focusing on fraud prevention and transparency; regulation, aimed at institutional strengthening and international cooperation; legal and responsible gaming, prioritizing safety, oversight, and sustainability; and good causes, highlighting how regulated betting contributes to social, sports, and cultural programs.
During the event, Alexandre Tauszig met with several industry executives, including Javier Milián, president of the LNB of El Salvador and re-elected president of CIBELAE; Rodrigo Cigliutti, executive director of CIBELAE; and Luca Esposito, secretary-general of ULIS.
Lotteries in the region have been expanding their portfolios with the inclusion of sports betting, which is no longer just a trend but is becoming central to the sector’s modernization. Brazil is an example of this movement, having successfully implemented specific legislation in December 2023, a process that has served as a reference for several countries on the continent.
The Congress showed that this movement is already underway and has been adopted by the region’s leading lotteries.
