A unified message for the benefit of the industry

BiS SiGMA strengthens partnership with EGR LatAm Summit, highlights iGaming sector integration

BiS SiGMA — the joint venture between the Brazilian iGaming Summit (BiS) and the SiGMA Group — took part in the EGR LatAm Summit held at the Fairmont Copacabana this November 27 - 28, marking the third consecutive year of collaboration between the organizations. As a partner sponsor, BiS SiGMA was represented by co-founder Alessandro Valente, who joined the panel “12 months of Brazilian regulation: successes, challenges, and roadblocks for the year ahead.”

During the discussion, Valente reinforced the message that the gaming and betting ecosystem must “break out of its bubble” and engage constructively with other economic sectors such as sports, tourism, entertainment, and broader cultural industries.

Over two days, the event brought together C-level executives from operators, suppliers, and regulators to debate the implementation of Brazil’s regulatory framework, with emphasis on compliance, payments, responsible marketing, public perception, and sports integrity.

Valente’s panel highlighted key lessons from the first year of regulation, identifying priorities such as consolidating responsible practices, strengthening institutional cooperation, and building bridges with adjacent industries to elevate standards and maximize economic and social impact.

According to Valente, one of BiS SiGMA’s largest goals is to counter criticism from external sectors and educate opinion leaders to improve the industry’s public image. The co-founder stated:

If we want the industry to advance, we need to go beyond our comfort zone. This means building bridges with sports, tourism and entertainment, sharing governance, data, and best practices. That’s how we gain scale, legitimacy, and value for society.”

He added: “We constantly see different sectors criticizing the market. One initiative BiS SiGMA has been pushing — and that I believe everyone should engage in — is participating in events outside our industry bubble.”

The ongoing partnership with EGR reinforces BiS SiGMA’s strategy of collaborating with leading global platforms throughout the annual industry calendar. According to Nuno Bispo, BiS SiGMA’s Marketing Director, the relationship is both complementary and globally relevant.

EGR is a unique and strategic meeting point. It closes the yearly cycle with intimate, in-depth debates among executive leaders. Being alongside EGR year after year allows us to exchange intelligence, insights, and deepen institutional relationships.”

EGR Global, a UK-based company, is a leading platform for iGaming intelligence, events and awards, connecting industry stakeholders worldwide for over 15 years. The EGR LatAm Summit in Rio de Janeiro is part of its regional portfolio, which includes the EGR Power LatAm Rio Summit (Brazil-focused) and the EGR Power LatAm Buenos Aires (regional perspective), with curated content on regulatory challenges, marketing performance, and product trends.

With the conclusion of the EGR LatAm Summit, BiS SiGMA reaffirms its commitment to advancing dialogue and integrating the iGaming and sports communities, contributing to a regulated, innovative, and responsible environment across Latin America.
