H2 Gambling Capital: More than half of iGaming in Brazil will be sports betting in 2025

The sports betting segment is expected to account for 55% of online gamings in Brazil in 2025. The projection is from H2 Gambling Capital, and shows why this topic is so popular in the country. According to the report, when the iGaming sector is categorized by products, sports betting comes first, followed by slot machines (27%). The study also points out the evolution of user accounts, which could reach 36 million by 2026.

Live casino games account for 6% of the market share, while the rest is divided into other types of iGaming.

Hot market

The study also points out the growth of active online betting and iGaming accounts in the country. The forecast is that this number will reach 36 million by 2026.

Each of these accounts should represent a gross revenue (GGR) of around US$ 133. In other words, a booming market.

In total, it is estimated that the online betting and gaming market in Brazil will reach a gross revenue of R$ 29 billion (US$5bn) in 2026.

Most popular categories

In addition, the survey presents the most popular types of bets, such as pre-match or in-game bets.

The study highlights that real-time bets have been stimulating the online betting and gaming sector in Brazil, and that this trend should continue with the regulation of the sector in the country (in progress).

Finally, the H2 Gambling Capital survey ranks the favorite and most profitable sports when it comes to online betting and gaming. It is no surprise that football leads the ranking in the country, accounting for 86% of gross revenue.

Just to give an example, tennis and basketball, which come in second and third place in GGR, represent 4% and 3%, respectively.

In the other category, the study highlights that MMA and boxing are popular, but have a lower availability of products. Therefore, they have a smaller share of the overall GGR.
