The lecture was conducted by Lottopar's Operations Director, Fabio Veiga, and Operations Advisor, sports law specialist lawyer Pablo Wosniacki. Also in attendance were the Club's Football Director, Carlos Bonatelli, and nutritionist Rafael Morais.
The initiative is part of a series of educational actions by Lottopar focused on the development of young athletes, aiming to promote technical and legal knowledge and raise awareness about the risks associated with illegal betting and match-fixing.
Lottopar’s Operations Advisor, Pablo Wosniacki, emphasized the responsibility of athletes as public figures and as agents of sports integrity:
“The current legislation, especially following the publication of Law 14.790, provides a clear framework of responsibilities and prohibitions for professional athletes and even for those in youth categories. Betting on one’s own competitions or manipulating results may constitute civil, administrative, and even criminal offenses. Our role here is to shed light on these matters, showing that beyond career impact, there are serious legal consequences. Athletes need to understand that integrity is not just a moral value – it is a legal duty.”
During the presentation, topics such as the new fixed-odds betting legislation in Brazil, profiles banned from betting, applicable sanctions in case of violations, as well as notable national and international cases that serve as warnings for athletes, were covered. A highlight of the lecture was the reflection on the importance of protecting the integrity of sport and the image of the players themselves.

For Fabio Veiga, Operations Director, “Lottopar’s mission goes beyond regulation and oversight. We believe that promoting sports integrity begins with education. More than just developing athletes, we want to contribute to the development of citizens. Each young person here carries a dream, but also a responsibility. Integrity starts with the first kick, but it is cemented through information, the right choices, and an awareness of their role in society.”
“It’s an extremely important subject, especially in today’s sports environment – not only in football but in sports as a whole. Expanding athletes’ understanding of the laws, appropriate behavior, and the sanctions they may face if they do not comply with legislation is essential for developing conscious and responsible citizens,” emphasized Carlos Bonatelli, Football Director at Paraná Clube.

Lottopar reinforces its commitment to promoting safe, transparent, and responsible gaming, in line with international standards of sports integrity. The lectures also share official reporting and support channels, ensuring anonymity and protection for those who choose to do the right thing.
The Paraná State Football Federation (FPF) and Lottopar maintain an active Cooperation Agreement, which includes information sharing, training, and educational initiatives for athletes and officials. All clubs affiliated with the FPF can request the lecture, either through the Federation or directly with Lottopar via the email [email protected].
The Paraná State Futsal Federation (FPFS) also has a similar agreement in effect, and its clubs will soon begin receiving the educational initiatives promoted by the Paraná Lottery, further expanding the reach of the integrity culture across the state’s sports scene.
