CPI das Bets arrests businessman and Payflow partner on charges of false testimony

The CPI das Bets arrested businessman Daniel Pardim Tavares Lima, partner at Peach Blossom River Technology, which owns another company called Payflow that operates in the payments sector of the iGaming sector, during testimony this Tuesday (29). The charge is the crime of perjury. According to the senators, Lima denied information considered true by the parliamentarians.

The request for arrest in flagrante delicto was made by the CPI rapporteur, Senator Soraya Thronicke, and confirmed by the president of the collegiate, Senator Dr. Hiran.

According to Soraya, Lima lied when he said he did not know his company partner, Adélia de Jesus Soares. Their company, Peach Blossom River Technology, owns another company called Payflow, which operates in the payments sector of the online gambling sector, according to the rapporteur.

Payflow is being investigated by the Civil Police of the Federal District for evidence of money laundering and illegal transfers.

“He started lying from the beginning, saying he didn’t know his partner. He lied more than three or four times, and we gave him the chance, we repeated questions. No one forms a partnership with someone they don’t know,” said the senator.

“He made a commitment to tell the truth in matters that would not incriminate him. But he also cannot omit issues that are known to be known... This is not an abuse of authority; if it is, I will answer for it with the greatest tranquility in the world. What we cannot allow is this disrespect within a CPI of the largest legislative body in the country.”

The president of the CPI explained that the Legislative Police will be in charge of the arrest report.
