Authored by deputy Antídio Lunelli, the bill received a favorable opinion from deputy Dr. Vicente Caropreso, who replaced the head of the committee, deputy Volnei Weber, at the meeting.
The proposal aims to regulate the holding of these events in the state, through the creation of a social certification that guarantees legal security and transparency. The certification will be granted by the Civil Police of the municipality where the event takes place, upon presentation of documents that prove the charitable nature of the entity and the activity.
It is worth noting that the initiative does not address the legalization of gambling for profit, but rather the formalization of charitable bingo, which is often held informally, exposing the organizing entities to legal risks. The regulation seeks precisely to provide a safer and more transparent environment for raising funds for social causes.
The Jaraguá do Sul City Council had already expressed support for the initiative, approving a motion in favor of the project.
The measure is considered a recognition of the importance of these activities for financing social projects and for strengthening community coexistence, especially among the elderly.
The project will now be analyzed by the other Alesc committees, before being submitted to a vote in plenary.
