The ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who reaffirmed Brazil's commitment to Paralympic sports. “The renewal of CAIXA's sponsorship of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee is not just a financial investment, it is an investment in dignity, talent and the future. It is the duty of the State and our institutions to ensure that our athletes have the conditions to train, compete and win," he emphasized.
President Lula also emphasized that by supporting Paralympic sports, CAIXA believes in the strength, resilience and capacity of our athletes. “We created the Bolsa Atleta to give opportunities to those who have never had them. And you have shown that, with support, nothing is impossible. You are examples and a source of pride for Brazil,” he concluded.
The investment by CAIXA and CAIXA Lotteries will subsidize the preparation of Brazilian athletes for national and international competitions and actions for social projects and continuing education in partnership with schools and social centers. The main objective is to expand social inclusion and high-performance activities for Brazilian Paralympic athletes.
“CAIXA will continue to be the lever to transform potential into performance. Dreams into reality. Challenges into achievements. Because we at CAIXA believe that Paralympic sports do not just mold champions, but build a fairer, more inclusive and, above all, more humane Brazil. Thank you to everyone who is part of this journey,” said CAIXA president Carlos Vieira.
For the CEO of CAIXA Loterias, Kleber Coelho Paz, it is a great honor to support CPB and contribute directly to strengthening national sports. "Sports are a powerful tool for social transformation and development of the country. Through the sponsorship and social transfers of the Lotteries, for over 20 years we have been able to invest directly in Paralympic sports talent, promoting equal opportunities and driving stories that inspire all of Brazil," he said.
Partnership with CPB celebrates over two decades
The partnership between Loterias Caixa and CPB began in 2004. During this period, Brazil has become a Paralympic powerhouse. In addition to remaining among the top ten countries in the last four editions of the Paralympic Games, national athletes have achieved outstanding performances in the last world championships in several sports, especially athletics and swimming.
“We are facing the largest sponsorship in the history of Brazilian Paralympic sports. This historic partnership represents a commitment to transforming lives and strengthening an inclusive, democratic and winning sports project. Caixa Loterias is a fundamental part of building Brazil as a global Paralympic powerhouse,” said José Antônio Freire, president of the CPB since January 2025.
With today’s renewal, more than R$500 million (US$89m) has been invested in the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB) over more than two decades. This investment has helped to boost the growth of parasports in Brazil, training elite athletes and promoting inclusive sports activities.
