The parliamentarian presented a bill that stipulates that such bets may only be made on real sports-themed events, when the bettor can win if he or she guesses correctly.
According to him, the ‘CPI of Bets’ has revealed money laundering schemes and other negative aspects of the legal classification of gambling, such as ‘Tigrinho’, as fixed-odds lotteries.
For the senator, there is a clear contradiction in the Brazilian legal system, since the authorization for virtual bets opened the door to online gambling, while casinos and slot machines remained illegal.
At the same time, Dr. Hiran wants to allocate resources from the revenue from fixed-odds bets to expand healthcare centers for people with gambling disorders, that is, those addicted to these games.
The idea is to implement outpatient clinics for treatment in the SUS for people affected by this pathology.
