Upon assuming the position, Horn publicly thanked the president of the Brazilian Bar Association - Rio de Janeiro Section (OAB/RJ) and highlighted the importance of the contribution of his colleagues from the previous administration.
“I am sincerely grateful to the President of the OAB/RJ, Dr. Ana Basílio, for the trust and for the opportunity to continue this very important work. I also thank all the members of the former commission for their commitment and dedication, which were fundamental to the success of the initiatives already implemented.”
According to him, the new phase of the commission will be guided by the strengthening and expansion of its activities, seeking to actively contribute to the development of the sector and the promotion of justice and ethics in the areas in which it operates.
“We are beginning a new cycle, with a more mature market and plenty of room for training professionals to fill the job opportunities that are emerging,” he said.
The Special Commission on Sports, Lottery and Entertainment Law of the OAB/RJ (CEDJDLE) is a commission of the Brazilian Bar Association, Rio de Janeiro Section, which is dedicated to the study, debate and legal action in the area of sports games, lottery games and entertainment in general.
The commission promotes debates, events and studies on the legislation and case law applicable to games and entertainment, seeking to improve the knowledge and performance of lawyers in this area.
Paulo Horn is a founding partner of Paiva & Horn Advogados Associados, a member of the Gaming Law Committee of the OAB/DF and of the Gaming, Betting and Responsible Gaming Committees of the OAB/SP and the Special Committee for Sports, Lottery and Entertainment Games, the Federal Council of the OAB, Alumni President of FND – UFRJ, member of the Brazilian Association of Political and Electoral Law (ABRADEP), member of the Constitutional Law Committee of the OAB/RJ and the IAB, and Legal Consultant of the National Association of State and Municipal Lotteries (ANALOME).
Horn has also held the positions of Undersecretary of Management of the Municipal Department of Labor (RJ), Administrative and Financial Director, Legal Director and Vice President of the Lottery of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Loterj).
