Bets in Brazil: 94% of deposits are up to US$18

In the first two months of 2025, with the sports betting market already regulated in Brazil, 94% of deposits made by Brazilian bettors did not exceed R$100 (US$18). This data reveals the low-value profile of bets in the country. The information is the result of a survey conducted by Pay4Fun, a company that acts as a payment intermediary for platforms such as Bet365 and Blaze.

On the other hand, transactions with higher values are far less frequent. Those exceeding R$ 1,000 (US$175) represent only 1.4% of the total, while bets over R$ 2,500 (US$440) correspond to less than 0.3%.

Pix is preferred when betting

The PIX instant payment system has consolidated itself as the favorite method of Brazilian gamblers. Pay4fun data show that between January and December 2024, 96.72% of betting websites were performed via Pix.

Other forms of payment appear with much more modest numbers. Digital portfolios represent 1.47% of transactions, bank transfers total 1.36%, and bank slips appear with only 0.45%.

Return of bets is greater than estimated

Another relevant data comes from the Central Bank. According to its president, Gabriel Galípolo, the awards paid to players surpass the previous projections.

The initial expectation was that about 85% of the amounts bet to return to users, but updated data indicate that this rate is close to 93%.
