In a video recently released by SOFTSWISS, a global software provider for the online gaming industry, Rubens Barrichello shares his impressions of “F1: The Movie”.
The former driver not only recalls the highlights of his career on the track, but also assesses how accurately the film captures the reality behind the scenes of Formula 1 – from data-driven decision-making to precision teamwork.
At the same time, the professional draws clear parallels between the world of racing and the online gaming industry, where speed, analysis and real-time action are equally vital.
Barrichello has been a partner of SOFTSWISS since 2024, when he was announced as Non-Executive Director for Latin America. Since then, the former driver has contributed his experience in high-tech resources and data analysis skills acquired on the racetrack to business opportunities for the iGaming industry in the region.

“Watching ‘F1: The Movie’, I remembered the adrenaline, the speed, the focus. But what really stood out was how well the production reflects the reality behind the scenes — the data, the coordination, the teamwork. That’s what racing is really about. And that’s also what we do at SOFTSWISS,” Barrichello notes in the video.
Now available on the SOFTSWISS YouTube channel, the video also highlights Barrichello’s belief in the value of results-oriented teams. Whether on the track or behind the iGaming platforms, the former driver emphasizes that true victories come from seamless collaboration and real-time precision.

“In the world of online gaming, we also deal with large amounts of data, adjust solutions in real time and rely on teamwork. Just as a driver trusts engineers and mechanics, we trust our developers and analysts. Both worlds share the same values, and I am happy to be part of each of them,” adds Barrichello.
The professional’s presence at SOFTSWISS also reflects his strong connection with Latin America – a key market for both motorsport and digital entertainment. His role unites two industries deeply rooted in the region’s cultural passions.
According to a recent Nielsen Sports survey, the number of Formula 1 fans in Latin America has increased by more than 25%. In the latest edition of the Ibope Repucom survey, 56% of Brazilians over the age of 18 claim to be motorsport fans.

Furthermore, a 2024 SOFTSWISS survey revealed Brazil’s strong engagement with iGaming, especially when measured by players’ preferred formats. Data from the brand’s media study shows that 67% of players prefer sports betting, while 43% engage with casino games, indicating a clear preference between the two.
The evolving iGaming industry landscape supports the company’s strategic product direction. By integrating sports betting and casino games into a unified platform, the company enhances the entertainment experience and increases flexibility for players.
As an example, SOFTSWISS Sportsbook insights show that the hybrid approach allows operators to align with audience interest during major sporting events such as the World Cup, while also offering engaging content year-round to cater to players’ diverse preferences.
Special premium event
On Monday night (30), the company held a premium and private event in São Paulo to mark the premiere of the new film produced in direct collaboration with the F1 organization.
The production promises to attract great worldwide attention — it is a major cinema release that combines Hollywood narrative with real images of the races.

The idea was to offer a VIP night: an exclusive movie session, combined with a pre-event reception with champagne, light and sophisticated snacks, space for photos and ambiance with elegant branding. A high-end experience, carefully planned to make an impact.
The event had as its main audience customers and potential customers of the brand in Brazil, bringing together around 50 guests.
