Tocantins Court authorizes Lototins to operate sports betting

The Court of Justice of Tocantins recognized the legality of Lototins' operations in this Brazilian state. On the afternoon of this Monday (30), judge Adolfo Amaro Mendes granted an injunction authorizing Lototins to resume normal fixed-odds betting activities. Since June 18, the operator had been complying with the court decision that had determined the interruption of operations.

On June 5, judge Roniclay Alves de Morais, of the 2nd Court of Finance and Public Records of Palmas, had ordered the suspension of the provision of fixed-odds betting games, as well as ordered Lototins to collect machines that operated this same modality.

Lototins learned of the decision on the 18th, through the State Finance Department of Tocantins, and, since it was a court order, it complied with it.

He also clarified, both to the Secretariat and in the lawsuit, that only the instant option is available on the machines and, therefore, these machines were kept operating normally in their various locations throughout the state. In other words, everything was done as ordered by the court decision, as soon as Lototins learned of its terms.

Therefore, bettors were able to notice that some bets were removed from the Lototins website, which was done to comply with the authority of a preliminary injunction in the first instance of the Judiciary of Tocantins.

However, as it did not agree with this decision, Lototins appealed to the Court of Justice of Tocantins, requesting an injunction, in order to be able to make the fixed-odds option available and continue to operate.

On the afternoon of this Monday (30), the judge of the Court of Justice of Tocantins, Adolfo Amaro Mendes, granted an injunction that authorized Lototins to return to operating the fixed-odds option normally.

Also last Saturday (28), federal judge Adelmar Aires Pimenta da Silva dismissed another lawsuit that had been filed against Lototins on behalf of Educafro Brasil, after the latter failed to comply with a court order to prove its legal status in order to file lawsuits in court.

Despite all the misinformation spread in recent weeks, Lototins remains firm in its greater purpose of bringing to the state of Tocantins all the social benefits of a game regulated by the State,” Lototins emphasizes.

With fixed-odds bettors having fun responsibly at Lototins and with the support of the people of Tocantins, the revenues that are not currently being directly returned to the population of Tocantins in so many of the bets that Tocantins residents are betting on will now generate direct benefits for causes such as sports (amateur and Olympic), the fight against cancer or for APAE in our state,” concludes the company.
