The Call represents another step by CAIXA Loterias in strengthening responsible practices in the betting market. The selected startups will be able to enter into a Public Contract for Innovative Solutions (CPSI) worth up to R$1.6 million (US$292,000) per project, with the possibility of a subsequent contract of R$8 million (US$1.45m).
The proposal is to develop computational models capable of identifying the risks of problematic behavior among gamblers, monitoring usage patterns, and enabling personalized communication and prevention actions.
The initiative is aligned with the Responsible Gaming Framework of the World Lottery Association (WLA), an association that establishes global guidelines for the ethical and legal marketing of lottery products, for which CAIXA already holds Level 3 international certification.
"CAIXA Loterias, as a partner of the public, is committed to further advancing its Responsible Gaming initiatives, and we believe this call for startups is an important step in that direction," emphasizes Darlan Costa da Silva Lins, Executive Director of CAIXA Loterias.
Innovation with social impact
According to data from the Central Bank of Brazil, an estimated 24 million people participated in gambling and betting between January and August 2024, making at least one Pix transfer to companies in this sector.

This strategy aims to maintain agility, test new models, and increasingly connect with innovative ecosystems."
